Miyazu Castle Samurai Daisho #2Japan
Miyazu Castle Samurai Daisho #3Japan
Miyazu Castle Samurai Daisho #4Japan
Fukuchiyama Castle Samurai Daisho #1Japan
Samurai Daisho #2Awaji Island

Objectives:

Location:

This Samurai Daisho is located on the lower level in the northern section of the castle complex.

Bonus Tip: We highly recommend infiltrating this castle at night to take advantage of the shadows.

Our Takedown Strategy:

Stealth and distraction are your best tools for this encounter. You will need to carefully navigate the rooftops and use the cover of the bushes to isolate your targets.

Enemy Presence—

Be careful, as this area is heavily guarded by enemies and servants. A stationary guard is positioned directly in front of the bushes near the storehouse, with the Daisho patrolling back and forth between the storehouse and the guard's position. There is also an additional guard stationed on the eastern side that you must avoid alerting.

Eliminating the Daisho—

  • The Approach: Start at the large wooden guard tower on the west side, head east toward the storehouse, and jump onto its roof.
  • Take Cover: When the coast is clear, drop down on the southern side of the building and hide in the bushes straight ahead.
  • Isolate the Guard: Wait until the Daisho is out of earshot, whistle the guard over to your position, and take him out quietly in the bushes.
  • Final Takedown: Next, whistle the Daisho into the bushes to eliminate him.
  • Alternative Strategy: If your level is too low for a quick stealth kill from the bushes, climb back onto the storehouse roof and strike from above, ensuring you stay on the south side to avoid being spotted by the eastern guard.

Samurai Daisho #4Awaji Island

Objectives:

Location:

This Samurai Daisho is located in the far southern portion of the castle complex. This section is almost entirely separate from the main grounds, sitting just outside its walls. You can cross the bridge to get there, but we suggest slipping through the water for a stealthy entrance.

Bonus Tip: We highly recommend infiltrating this castle at night to take advantage of the shadows.

Our Takedown Strategy:

We found this Daisho to be tougher than the previous ones, so we recommend setting up an air assassination for maximum damage rather than whistling him over.

Enemy Presence—

Use Eagle Vision to scan the area: the Daisho is patrolling, 2 guards are sparring in the middle, and a stationary guard is inside the crumbling guard tower to the right.

Eliminating the Daisho—

  • The Approach: Facing the bridge, drop into the water on the right side and climb out. You'll find yourself in front of a broken-down house with the Daisho and his guards just ahead.
  • Disarm the Trap: Watch your step before entering the house—there's a poison trap tripwire strung across the left-side entrance! Slip in through the clear opening on the right to bypass it, then disable the trap from inside.
  • Get into Position: Exit the house on the right side and head into the bushes. Move through the bushes into the next building, exit through the hole in the wall to your right, and climb to the roof. Walk out to the middle of the connecting rope.
  • Final Takedown: Eliminate the 2 sparring guards with kunai; this will send the Daisho into a frenzy, causing him to quickly walk directly underneath you. Drop down for an instant air assassination. The guard in the tower will not notice the commotion.
Takeda Castle Samurai Daisho #1Japan
Samurai Daisho #3Awaji Island

Objectives:

Location:

Head to the very center of the castle complex, right near the tenshu, to find this Daisho. You can reach him stealthily from the level below on the southern side by grappling up to the crumbling roof. Use Eagle Vision to spot Samurai Daisho #3 just below.

Bonus Tip: We highly recommend infiltrating this castle at night to take advantage of the shadows.

Our Takedown Strategy:

This encounter requires patience and timing. You will systematically dismantle his security detail using environmental cover before baiting the main target into a trap.

Enemy Presence—

While he does have a large security detail, the surrounding guards are thankfully spread out. The Daisho patrols back and forth, north to south, in the center of the area. In his immediate vicinity are 2 guards conversing to the right, and one guard standing stationary between two crumbling buildings on his left. 2 additional guards are stationed in the back (one west, one east); they shouldn't be an immediate concern, but stay aware so you aren't accidentally spotted.

Eliminating the Daisho—

  • Stationary Guard: Head to the left side of the roof, just above the stationary guard in between the 2 buildings. Wait for the Daisho to turn his back and walk north, then drop down and head straight for the bushes behind the guard. (If the Daisho has already started walking back, hold off until he turns around again). When it's safe, pull the guard into the bushes for a quiet kill!
  • Chatty Guards: Ensure the Daisho isn't looking, then turn back the way you came. Instead of taking the rooftops, use the broken-down covered walkway to cross all the way to the other side. This brings you right up to the 2 chatty guards. When the Daisho is on the other side of the complex, roll into the bushes and bamboo straight ahead. Wait for the Daisho to walk north again so he is out of earshot, then, from the far end of the bushes nearest to the guards, step out and double-assassinate them both.
  • Final Takedown: Don't bother hiding the bodies—immediately head back to your starting roof before the Daisho turns around. Stay in the shadows while the Daisho spots the mess and comes searching, then drop down on him for a satisfying air assassination!
Takeda Castle Samurai Daisho #2Japan
Takeda Castle Samurai Daisho #3Japan
Samurai Daisho #1Awaji Island

Objectives:

Location:

You'll find this Daisho in the northeastern part of the castle complex. If coming from the Daisho #2 area, climb back up the Kura roof, jump to the walking rope ahead, and follow it all the way across to the next building. Cross the roof to the back beam and jump to the wooden rafter on the wall ahead. Use Eagle Vision to scan the opposite side and pinpoint your target!

Bonus Tip: Infiltrate at night to take advantage of the shadows.

Our Takedown Strategy:

As you mark enemies with Eagle Vision, you’ll quickly realize you’re outnumbered. Climb the small roof on the opposite side of the wall to assess the area. Watch the alarm bell to your right—getting spotted brings the whole castle down on you, and disabling it only puts the guards on high alert.

Enemy Presence—

  • Front Area: One pacing servant on the left, 2 guards by the fire, and 2 more flanking the Daisho.
  • Back Area: One servant in the back left corner, another guard directly behind the house, and one more guard with 2 servants in the back right corner.
  • Inside the Building (Legendary Chest): Heading inside the building for the Legendary Chest? If you take the front door, you'll see one of those standard "samurai statues." Right? Right??? NO! It is a trap! That is a REAL samurai hiding in plain sight, and Eagle Vision won't even pick him up. Avoid the front door entirely!
  • Target: The Daisho, standing near explosive barrels.

Eliminating the Daisho—

  • Tactical Retreat: Hop back over the wall and drop into the hay. Stick to the shadows (especially if you haven't cleared this lower area) and move straight across to the wooden guard tower.
  • Tower Setup: Climb the roof beside the tower, hop over, and ascend to the top.
  • Explosive Ambush: Position yourself in the shadows of the tower to stay hidden, then throw a few shuriken at the explosive barrels below—there are barrels on both the left and right sides of the Daisho. The blast will kill several guards, heavily damage the Daisho, and flush the hidden samurai out of the building.
  • Final Cleanup: With everyone exposed and gathered in one spot, rain down kunai to eliminate the survivors and finish off the Daisho.
Takeda Castle Samurai Daisho #4Japan
Takeda Castle Samurai Daisho #5Japan
Samurai Daisho #2Awaji Island

Objectives:

Location:

Near your initial infiltration point. The target is waiting in the adjacent section just to your left, which can be accessed by finding a ground-level hole in the wall near your entry point.

Bonus Tip: Infiltrate at night to take advantage of the shadows.

Our Takedown Strategy:

You will need to clear the initial entry area and a connecting courtyard before you can safely reach the Daisho. Be highly aware of your surroundings as you transition between zones—there is a hidden tripwire trap waiting for you.

Enemy Presence

  • Entry Area: One sleeping guard and nearby servant.
  • Courtyard: 2 chatting guards towards the center to the left of the wooden guard tower.
  • Target Area/Second Courtyard: One wandering servant behind the left wall, a guard on the elevated perimeter platform, 2 guards chatting by the storage Kura, 2 guards inside the left building, and the patrolling Daisho.

Eliminating the Daisho—

  • Secure the Entry: Proceed straight from the infiltration point, head around the house, and kunai the guard on your left. Push ahead to drop the servant, then backtrack to the first guard's body.
  • Enter the Courtyard: Check the left side of the building near your entry to find a hole in the wall. Crawl through it straight into the bushes.
  • Courtyard Ambush: Climb up to the stable roof on your right, sneak to the edge, and drop down for a double-assassination on the 2 chatting guards. (Quickly stash their bodies to the side so the wandering servant doesn't spot them!)
  • Perimeter Guard: Move up to the wooden guard tower and kunai the guard on the elevated platform.
  • Navigate the Trap: Slip through the hole at the bottom of the north wall (where the 2 guards were standing) to reach the next section's bushes. Crawl under the platform to the end, but STOP before exiting to disarm the tripwire!
  • Positioning: Shimmy through the grass, duck behind the well, and wait for the perfect moment to slip into the left-side bushes. Climb the Kura roof directly above the 2 chatting guards.
  • The Kill: Wait for the Daisho to patrol as far away as possible. Hit the Daisho with a kunai, then immediately drop down to double-assassinate the 2 guards before they even know what happened
Samurai Daisho #4Awaji Island

Objectives:

Location:

He can be found in the southwest corner of the castle complex. From the alarm bell near Daisho #3, head south along the west wall until you pass one of the main castle entryways. Hop to the roof of the building just ahead and into an area surrounded by bamboo. He's located a bit further south near a residential building, but you'll want to clear the area leading to him first.

Bonus Tip: Infiltrate at night to take advantage of the shadows.

Our Takedown Strategy:

Enemy Presence —

  • From the roof just above the bamboo, there's a guard by the open entryway straight ahead, another patrolling the middle of the area, and one standing beneath the small building. Beyond that there are 2 guards inside the central building, a servant on the porch to the left, and 2 guards and the Daisho wandering around the back.

Eliminating the Daisho —

  • Take Out Nearby Guards: Kunai the entryway guard from the roof (there's a tool refill on this roof if you need it), then wait for the patrolling guard to walk away, drop into the bushes below, and whistle him in for a stealth kill when he returns. Next, make your way to the small building and climb to the roof and eliminate the guard below.
  • Sneak to the Central building: Avoid the central steps ahead—instead, slip into the right-side bushes facing the residential house. From here, whistle to stealthily kill the 2 indoor guards one by one, then creep left to silently take out the servant.
  • Assassinate the Daisho: Finally, climb the residential roof, drop the two patrolling guards with kunai (grab tools under the walkway if needed), and finish the Daisho out back with a swift air assassination.
Samurai Daisho #5Awaji Island

Objectives:

Location:

You'll find this Daisho patrolling the southern and eastern exterior of a residential building in the northeastern part of the castle complex, right beside the Tenshu. Approach from the southwest across the rooftops. Position yourself overlooking the residential building with the walking rope on your right — the Daisho is waiting just around that corner.

Bonus Tip: Infiltrate at night to take advantage of the shadows.

Our Takedown Strategy:

Stealth is essential here! The area is packed with guards in tight quarters, and an active alarm bell sits to your right from the starting rooftop. Getting spotted triggers a full castle response, but disabling the bell puts everyone on high alert—making silent takedowns much harder. Take note of the trap doors on the roof and beneath the main building. (Grab the tool refill on the roof if you are low on kunai!)

Enemy Presence—

Several guards cluster tightly around the building: isolated guards and servants on the left side, a lone guard near the alarm bell on the east side, 2 guards inside the building beneath the roof hatch, and 2 more sitting by a fire in the back corner. The Daisho patrols the exterior just beyond the right‑hand corner of the residential building.

Eliminating the Daisho—

  • Left Side Guards: Use kunai to silently pick off the isolated guards and servants on the left side of the building.
  • Alarm Bell Guard: Wrap around to the east side (your right) and drop the lone guard near the alarm bell with a kunai.
  • Interior Guards: Creep across the ropes, slip through the roof hatch, and assassinate the 2 guards inside.
  • Fire Pit Guards: Climb back up, cross the rope again, and sneak along the walkway to the back corner. Double‑assassinate the 2 guards by the fire, or use a kunai on one and finish the other quietly.
  • Final Takedown: Return to the main building’s roof and execute a perfectly timed double assassination on the Daisho and the final guard below.
Samurai Daisho #1Awaji Island

Objectives:

Location:

Far northwestern part of the castle, patrolling between the 2 northeastern-most sections. Approach from the large, multi-leveled building near Samurai Daisho #2. Head down the left-side walkway and follow the roof all the way around until you spot a lookout guard, with the Daisho patrolling the courtyard directly below.

Bonus Tip: Infiltrate at night to take advantage of the shadows.

Our Takedown Strategy:

BE WARNED!! This area is absolutely crawling with enemies! You must clear the perimeter before engaging the Daisho. Mind the nearby alarm bell—getting spotted brings the entire castle down on you, but disabling it puts the guards on high alert. Keep it strictly stealthy. (Grab the tool refill on the roof if you need it!)

Enemy Presence—

  • Platforms & Lookouts: One guard ahead of your starting roof, another on a raised platform across the courtyard, and one more on a platform behind the storage Kura.
  • Courtyard Level: One guard hidden behind a small fence, another guard and servant near the shed, and 3 guards gathered near the fire.
  • Target: The Daisho, patrolling the courtyard.

Eliminating the Daisho—

  • Initial Clear: Drop the guard on the platform ahead with a kunai, then hit the courtyard guard below (hidden behind the small fence) with another. Watch the Daisho's patrol path carefully while timing this!
  • Kura Platforms: Move right to the rooftops and scout the courtyard. Jump to the next roof to Kunai the guard on the raised platform, then hop to his roof and over to the storage Kura. Hit the guard on the platform behind the Kura with a kunai.
  • Shed Ambush: Drop behind the kura, wait for the left guard to walk off, whistle the right servant behind the shed, and eliminate him. Repeat this ambush when the patrolling guard returns.
  • Baiting the Campfire: Scramble back up the Kura roof and head to the right-side rooftops. Drop down on the far side (away from the guards) and roll straight into the bushes to the right of the fire. Hide behind the bamboo fence, whistle one guard over, and pull him into the bushes.
  • Rope Ambush: Roll back out, climb the roof, and shimmy out to the center of the connecting rope. Kunai one guard, then drop down for a double-assassination on the remaining two. Time this perfectly so the Daisho doesn't see you!
  • Final Takedown: Instantly roll back to the bushes, climb up to the rope one last time, and wait for the perfect air assassination on the Daisho below.
Samurai Daisho #3Awaji Island

Objectives:

Location:

This Daisho is located in the southeastern part of the castle complex. Approach from the northeast and follow the rooftops until you're directly above the courtyard facing south. Look down to spot the Daisho surrounded by numerous guards, standing directly underneath a conveniently placed walking rope.

Bonus Tip: Infiltrate at night to take advantage of the shadows.

Our Takedown Strategy:

Your best bet is to thin the herd stealthily before going for the Daisho. Take note of the nearby alarm bell, which raises the stakes: being spotted alerts the entire castle to your presence, while disabling it puts the guards on edge, making them harder to take down.

Enemy Presence—

  • There are 2 guards on the platforms at your rooftop level, a patrolling guard near the Kura storage, a servant in the stables on your right, 2 guards on the left sitting by the fire, and then the Daisho standing directly underneath the walking rope running across the middle of the area over to the stables.

Eliminating the Daisho—

  • Clear the rooftops: Hit the first platform guard with a kunai, then jump to the Kura roof to take out the second (there's a tool refill on the starting roof).
  • Patrolling Guard: Drop into the bushes behind the Kura to whistle and stealth-kill the patrolling guard.
  • Stable Servant: Next, climb back up to the Kura roof, drop down to the boardwalk on the right, and hop onto the tightrope. Shuriken the stable servant to deliberately alert the Daisho.
  • Campfire Guards: While he's distracted, cross the rope and head for the roof on the left, drop into the bushes by the fire, and kunai the two guards.
  • Assassinate the Daisho: Quickly head back to the rope and air-assassinate the confused Daisho beneath you.
Samurai Daisho #2Awaji Island

Objectives:

Location:

This Daisho is located in the northeast corner of the castle complex within a training courtyard. He stands in the center beside 2 sparring guards. Position yourself on top of the large multi‑story building overlooking the training area.

Bonus Tip: Infiltrate at night to take advantage of the shadows.

Our Takedown Strategy:

Clear the multi-story building first to secure your vantage point, then methodically pick off the perimeter targets from the shadows before baiting the Daisho into a trap. (Grab the extra tools on the roof if you need them!)

Enemy Presence—

  • Inside the building: 3 guards and one servant—a sleeping guard on the top level, a servant on the second, and 2 sleeping guards at the bottom.
  • Outside the building: a servant pacing along the right walkway, with a sleeping guard directly below him under the wooden platform. Another servant stands on the left-side walkway.
  • Courtyard center: 2 sparring guards with the Daisho positioned just behind them.

Eliminating the Daisho—

  • Inside Building: Infiltrate and silently eliminate everyone inside top-to-bottom. Be extremely careful on the bottom level; there is an open doorway where you can be easily spotted from the outside.
  • Outside Servants: Use kunai to take out the two servants patrolling the outside walkways.
  • Under the Walkway: Move to the right-side boardwalk, stay in the shadows, climb down the ladder, and kunai the sleeping guard below. Destroy the hanging lantern with a shuriken so his body stays hidden!
  • Sparring Guards: Climb back up the ladder and drop the 2 sparring guards with kunai. If you remain in the shadows, the Daisho won’t spot you—he'll only begin searching.
  • Final Takedown: Wait for him to approach your position on the boardwalk, then jump down for a clean air assassination.
